We are currently recruiting experienced and qualified Freelance BSL<>English Interpreters, Deaf Relay Interpreters, and Lipspeakers to join our professional network on a self-employed basis.

Deliver high-quality BSL<>English interpreting services
Undertake face-to-face interpreting assignments
Undertake video remote interpreting assignments (RSLI only)
Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality at all times
Adhere to professional codes of conduct and interpreting standards
We expect our linguists to:
Provide accurate, impartial, and confidential interpreting services
Comply fully with our Code of Conduct and best practice guidelines
Deliver exceptional customer service
Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills
Maintain punctuality, reliability, and professionalism
Remain impartial and unbiased in all assignments
Show cultural competence and awareness in both languages
Maintain a professional demeanour throughout all engagements
Applicants must hold one of the following (or equivalent):
Level 6 BSL/English Interpreting qualification
MA in BSL/English Interpreting and Translating
NVQ Level 6 in BSL/English Interpreting and Translating
Postgraduate Diploma in BSL/English Interpreting and Translating
Honours Degree level qualification in BSL
Level 3 qualification (Lipspeakers)
Applicants should be registered with one or more of the following professional bodies:
NRCPD (UK)
RBSLI (UK)
SRLPDC (Scottish Register)
RISLI (Irish Register)
Other relevant professional register (please specify)
Successful applicants must be able to provide:
Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
A valid DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
Two professional references
